Jeff Bronchick
joined RCB in 1989 and is the Chief Investment Officer and Principal. He served in equity trading and research at Neuberger and Berman from 1986-1989, institutional equity sales at Bankers Trust Company from 1985-1986, and equity trading and sales at First Boston Corporation from 1984-1985. Mr. Bronchick received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and studied at London School of Economics. Mr. Bronchick is the Founder of the Paige Foundation, a non-profit which funds research in the treatment of congenital heart defects in children.
Mohnish Pabrai
is Managing Partner of Pabrai Investment Funds, a group of focused value funds. Since inception in 1999 with $1 million, Pabrai Funds has grown to over $591 million in assets under management. $100,000 invested at inception is worth $651,000 as of 12/31/07 – an annualized return of about 24% net to investors. Pabrai is the author of two books on value investing, Mosaic and The Dhandho Investor.
Mark Sellers
started the Sellers Capital Fund on August 1, 2003 with $70,000 in capital and two investors. Today, Sellers Capital manages approximately $220 million for 125 investors throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe. The fund has returned in excess of 40% annually, before incentive fees, since inception. Prior to establishing the Sellers Capital Fund in 2003, Mr. Sellers was the Lead Equities Strategist for Morningstar and was the primary force behind the development of Morningstar’s “moat” approach to evaluating investment opportunities. That approach is key to investment analysis at Sellers Capital. He holds a B.A. in Accounting from Michigan State University and an MBA degree in Accounting & Finance from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management.
J. Carlo Cannell
has 16 years of experience investing in small caps and over 19 years of experience in analysis of technology companies. A graduate of Princeton, he attended New College, Oxford, and studied business at Templeton College. Mr. Cannell, a third generation investment manager, is the managing member of Cannell Capital LLC in San Francisco.
Steven Romick
Senior Vice-President of First Pacific Advisors, Inc., is the portfolio manager of FPA Crescent Fund, FPA Hawkeye Fund, FPA Multi-Advisor Fund, and various separate accounts. He was previously Chairman of Crescent Management.
Zeke Ashton
is the founder and Managing Partner of Centaur Capital Partners, a Dallas-based value-oriented investment firm. He and co-portfolio manager Matthew Richey are the advisors to the Centaur family of private partnerships using a long / short equity strategy, and are the sub-advisors to the Tilson Dividend Fund, a mutual fund utilizing a unique, income-oriented value investing strategy.
Atticus Lowe
is a CFA Charterholder and completed the Value Investing Program at Columbia. He is responsible for stock research and portfolio management, along with structuring private investment opportunities. Honored as a member of the “Forty Under 40” Class by the Pacific Coast Business Times, Atticus is a member of the National Association of Petroleum Investment Analysts, and a dedicated student of value investing.
Robert Hagstrom
is Portfolio Manager of the Legg Mason Growth Trust mutual fund, and has been responsible for overseeing all investments made by that fund since its inception in 1995. He also manages the Growth Equity separate account product. Robert is known for his best-selling book, The Warren Buffett Way: Investment Strategies of the World's Greatest Investor and several other popular books. He earned a B.A. and M.A. from Villanova University.
Lance Helfert
Before founding West Coast Asset Management he oversaw a $1 billion portfolio at Wilshire Associates. Lance sits on the board of directors for Junior Achievement of Southern California and the Tri-Counties Make-A-Wish Foundation. He has been honored as one of the top executives in banking and finance by the Pacific Coast Business Times. Lance is a graduate of Pepperdine University.
Vitaliy N. Katsenelson
CFA is a portfolio manager with Investment Management Associates and wrote Active Value Investing: Making Money in Range-Bound Markets (Wiley & Sons, 2007). He is adjunct faculty at the University of Colorado Graduate School of Business where he teaches Practical Equity Analysis and Portfolio Management. Katsenelson is a regular contributor to the Financial Times, and has written for Barron’s, Business Week and many other financial publications.
Kenneth Shubin Stein
MD, CFA, is the founder of Spencer Capital Management, LLC. Before this he was a portfolio manager at Promethean Investment Group LLC. Dr. Shubin Stein is a graduate of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Columbia College.
Randall Abramson
CFA, is a co-founder, CEO, and a portfolio manager at Trapeze Asset Management Inc. in Toronto, Canada, which manages separate accounts on a discretionary basis for high net worth individuals and institutions. Trapeze has over $1 billion in assets under administration, together with its affiliated investment dealer, Trapeze Capital Corp. Trapeze’s long-short composite has returned approximately 30% per year, net of all fees, since inception on October 1, 1998.
Aaron Edelheit
is portfolio manager of Sabre Value Management. His ten years of experience include research, trading and portfolio management across a wide array of industries both domestically and internationally. Mr. Edelheit began his career at Individual Investor Group. In 1998, he started Sabre Value Management and he launched the Sabre Value Fund in 2002. He has compounded his investors' money at 20% net of fees annually since 1998.
Glenn H. Tongue
is the Managing Partner of T2 Partners LLC and the Tilson Mutual Funds. He spent 17 years on Wall Street, most recently as an investment banker at UBS, where he was a Managing Director and Head of Acquisition Finance. Before UBS, Mr. Tongue was at DLJ for 13 years, the last three of which he served as the President of NYSE-listed DLJdirect. He was a Managing Director in the Investment Bank at DLJ, where he worked on over 100 transactions worth $40 billion.
Whitney R. Tilson
is the founder and Managing Partner of T2 Partners LLC, which manages three private investment partnerships and Tilson Mutual Funds. He is Co-Editor-in-Chief of Value Investor Insight. Tilson has been a guest on Lou Dobbs Moneyline and Wall $treet Week, has been profiled by the Wall Street Journal and is a regular columnist for Financial Times. He is the co-founder and Chairman of the Value Investing Congress.
